Tell Me Why Donald Trump Deserves Our Support

As of April 28th, 2018, Donald Trump has told a total of 3001 Lies/Falsehoods.  I cannot call them all outright lies, because in some cases the misinformation may have come as a result of ignorance to subjects the President was talking about or simply a lack of vetting of the information being put out.  But one thing can be said for sure, and that is our current President, Donald Trump, has told lies on almost a daily basis since he took office, and on some days has told numerous lies.

I am writing this Blog today because it has been very hard for me to understand why Donald Trump still has a fairly sizable base of dedicated supporters.  I want to look back to before the election in 2016, back to when Donald was running against several Republicans, all of which were fighting for the Republican Nomination.  At that point Donald Trump was simply an afterthought.  The Republicans felt he would never be able to attain the Nomination and would simply fade out of the limelight during the process.

As time went on it became more evident that people didn't care what Donald Trump was saying or doing.  They didn't care how inappropriate the things he said and did were.  People were ready for an outsider to come in and shake up the political structure of Washington in a way it had never been done.  People and organizations put their morals aside and stood behind this Billionaire Businessman who was saying things people wanted to hear at the time, and eventually, he beat out the pack and received the Republican Nomination.

Then it came down to Donald Trump vs. Hillary Clinton.  This caused even more issues as time went on for the Democrats, because they essentially had a nominee that many people took issue with.  We had a career politician in Hillary Clinton who had been a lawyer, First Lady under Bill Clinton, a Senator in New York, and then Secretary of State.

To give a bit of background on Hillary Clinton, I will run through her Resume quickly.  Hillary was born in Chicago, Illinois.  She Graduated from Yale Law in 1973 and started her law career as a congressional legal counsel before moving to Arkansas and marrying Bill Clinton in 1975.  She was the first female partner at Rose Law Firm in 1978 and practiced law for years.  When her husband, Bill Clinton, became President, Hillary became an advocate for gender equality and healthcare reform as the First Lady.  During her tenure as First Lady, the Monica Lewinsky scandal occurred, during which Hillary issued a statement reaffirming her commitment to her marriage.  It was as that point that Hillary really started to lose support with a certain part of her base because of her response to her husband's infidelities.

In 2000, Hillary was elected as a Senator from New York.  She was re-elected into the Senate in 2006.  In 2008, in her run for the presidency, Hillary won far more delegates than any previous female candidate, but lost the Democratic Nomination to Barak Obama.

From 2009 to 2013, Hillary Clinton served as Secretary of State under the Obama Administration.  Hillary did some great things as Secretary of State, but also made some decisions that caused her to lose even more support from people in an already unstable base.

Hillary ran for President again in 2016.  She became the first female candidate to be nominated for President by a major U.S. Political Party.  Once again controversy surrounded Hillary as the election drew near, and that controversy was ultimately one of the reasons she ended up losing the Presidential race to Donald Trump; even though she received far more of the Popular Vote in the election.  Donald Trump took the Electoral Vote and ultimately won the Presidency.

Stars aligned for Donald Trump throughout the entire process leading up to Election Day in 2016.  No matter what he said or did, his base was there for him.  No matter how many lies he told, his base was there for him.  Even on Election Day, losing the popular vote by 2,864,974 votes, Donald Trump was able to receive enough Electoral Votes to win the election; an election that he never expected to win if you looked at his face when it became clear that he was the new President of the United States.

Now, I have covered the basic history leading up to the election of Donald J. Trump, so now I have a question.  After telling thousands of lies to the American Public, how do people still trust and stand behind this man today?  This is a man who started the Birther Movement, swearing the Obama was not born in the United States.  This is a man who said that candidates should always provide their Tax Returns and remain transparent, but who has never provided his.  This is a man who plugged every family member he could into political positions within his own Administration, and has on multiple occasions made money off of his Presidency by hosting events at his own properties.

As of April 28th, 2018, Donald Trump has been on the grounds of his golf courses or played golf elsewhere 111 Times.  The funny thing about this little tidbit is that if you go back in time, Donald Trump spent so much time speaking on the campaign trail complaining about how much time Obama spent on the golf course.  He even tweeted about Obama's affinity for golf 27 times, complaining about him.  Donald, however, is far in excess of Obama's totals, having hit the range 111 times as of April 28th, compared to Obama having golfed 333 times throughout his entire 8 year Presidency.

Enough about golf.  Donald Trump simply outright lies about EVERYTHING.  There are days I feel sorry for his Press Secretary, but then I remember that each of the Press Secretaries knew what they were signing up for when they took the job.  He has gone through cabinet members like candy, has failed to appoint people to positions that they are qualified for, has been surrounded by people who are covered in controversy throughout his tenure as President, has done nothing to unite Americans but has done so many things to do just the opposite.  Donald seems to enjoy talking highly of Autocrats around the world, and seems to have a hard time saying anything critical of hate groups.  When the opportunity arose to denounce the NAZI protesters, Donald Trump simply stated that there were good people on both sides.  I challenge the President to show me any of the people on the NAZI side who could be considered 'good' as they carried their torches and spewed hate speech.

Donald Trump's legal team has been troubled, and his long time personal lawyer is now under a deep federal investigation.  Donald has obviously cheated on his wife more than once.  You can say that nothing is proven all that you want, but the mountain of circumstantial evidence that exists right now is hard to refute.  There are many women who have put forth sexual harassment claims against the President.  We have the "Grab 'em by the Pu$$y" recording with Billy Bush on the bus, Trump making fun of a person with a handicap, making numerous racist comments concerning immigrants, an American Judge, a Gold Star Family, etc.

I can LITERALLY go on and on for EVER listing all of the negative press the President has received in the past year plus.  And don't throw out the 'FAKE NEWS' crap at me.  The President deems anything critical that is published about him as 'FAKE NEWS'.  Fox News knows that Donald watches them every day, and often tweets things immediately after those things are covered on FOX.  They suck up to him like I have never seen before, and it is sickening to say the least.  Hannity has been up the President's butt for the last year and it is a disgrace.

How does ANYONE stand behind this man at this point?  As I have said before in previous Blogs, you can be a Republican but not support the President.  You can be a conservative and support conservative policy without standing behind our current President.  I would like to hear why Donald Trump is the right person for the job, why he should be reelected, and why he deserves a pass for all of the horrible, deceitful, disgraceful, lie filled things he has said and done over the past 2 years.  I am very interested to hear form supporters of Donald J. Trump.  Please provide me some insight as to why you can look past everything and stand by Donald Trump.

Trump and the DOJ Trying to Silence Mueller...

Mueller is set to sit in front of Congress on Wednesday this week and answer questions regarding the Mueller Investigation.  The DOJ, and organization that is supposed to look out for the best interests of America but has recently decided to become Trump's personal Law Firm, has sent correspondence to Mueller about what he can and cannot answer. For instance, you have the question of the 10 documented cases of obstruction in volume 2 of the report.  Mueller made it clear that he was bound by DOJ policy and could not indict a sitting president.  One very important question the Congressional Leadership will likely ask is, "If Donald Trump wasn't the sitting President, would you have indicted him based on the amount of evidence in the report?"  That question in every respect is fair.  You are asking the head of an investigation if they would have indicted someone had an arbitrary roadblock not been in place.  I say arbitrary roadblock because the policy is...

Let's talk about kids

So here we are, waiting patiently and watching what the government is doing to reunite children with their parents who have been separated at the border.  The government said all it would take was a few key strokes and they could immediately identify which children were where and get them reunited.  Interesting comment considering that we are now past the court mandated timeframe within which the government was mandated by the court to reunite the 102 children under the age of 5 with their parents.  They had a month to do it, and only managed to reunite around 54 children by the deadline.  They have resorted to taking DNA samples from children and parents to try to match them up in a database because the process they used to separate these children from their parents didn't take into consideration the reunification process, so in most cases they have no idea which children match up to which parents. Instead of the President taking a more compassionate approach to...

Technology, the Double Edged Sword

Technology is an amazing thing isn't it?  Look at the evolution of the computer.  Below I am providing a history of the evolution of the computer.  It is not all-inclusive, but does document some very important moments in history starting in 1801 and ending in 2017.  If you aren't a huge reader, you can jump past the history lesson to the remainder of my blog below, but it is very interesting and I recommend you read through it.  In France in 1801, Joseph Marie Jacquard invented a loom that used punched wooden cards to automatically weave fabric designs.  Early computers would use similar punch cards. In 1822, an English Mathematician named Charles Babbage conceived of a steam-driven calculating machine that would be able to compute tables of numbers.  The project was funded by the English government and was a failure.  More than a century later, however, the first computer was actually built in the world. In 1890, Herman Hollerith designed ...
