The Tapes

So it came out yesterday in court that Michael Cohen had, for years, created audio recordings of conversations he had with many people.  A team has been thoroughly reviewing all of the seized documents gathered in the raid of Cohen's office, home, and hotel room.  They have made it through about a third of the 3.7 million documents, and are even reconstructing shredded documents that were seized.

The big question is, what will be found?  What evidence will be present in that veritable treasure trove of information that connects Cohen to Stormy Daniels, and more importantly, Trump or members of his administration?  It is hard to tell, but I think the most interesting thing to watch moving forward with the case is Michael Cohen.  This is a family man who doesn't want to go to prison.  He has very openly said that he stands by and supports Trump, but as the evidence stacks up against him, and he sees an ever lengthening prison sentence in front of him, what will he decide?

Most people would crack, as countless gang members, mob members and others throughout history have when the pressure has been applied.  Once people see the reality of their futures, many go into self-protection mode.  If Cohen wants to remain a free man, or spend minimal time behind bars, and he has ample information that would incriminate Trump or others, we are getting to a point where a flip may be in the cards for Cohen.

In looking at how things keep getting worse and worse for Cohen, it is interesting to watch how the Trump Administration has began to act over the past 2-3 weeks.  They have started an outright smear campaign aimed at discrediting the Mueller Investigation, the Department of Justice, and anyone who isn't aligned with the President.  Things like that occur when people of power and influence find themselves backed into a corner with no way to get out.  I look at the actions of the Trump Administration right now and it really makes me wonder about what Mueller is going to find or has found.  After all, if there wasn't anything to find, why would the President care?

Trump supporters would answer that question by saying something about a deep state conspiracy against the President that is trying to bring him down.  Those of us who support Trump or don't support him, and who have any common sense about us what-so-ever, realize that the idea of a deep state conspiracy was born out of lies and falsehoods that originated with the President.  It is a construct of deception created by Trump to deflect attention and discredit the media and investigations.  It is complete and utter bullshit...pardon my French.

When you see smear campaigns like the one the President and his team are conducting right now, there is never a good reason those smear campaigns start.  They start because there is very good reason to believe that evidence exists that will make the President look very bad in some way.  If the President hadn't done anything wrong, why would he put so much effort into the organizations trying to conduct investigations?  There would be no reason to, but Trump finds it very necessary right now to go on the offensive against an investigation that has been performed above bar, and an investigator who is upholding the rule of law in spectacular fashion.  There have been no leaks out of the Mueller Team, but the Trump Team is leaking like a termite riddled row boat on a daily basis.  The leaks are so bad on the Trump Team that there have been multiple leaks that came out of meetings where the Team was discussing leaks.  You can't make this stuff up people.

Mark my words on this the 31st day of May, 2018.  In the next year things are going to surface that will set a new direction for politics in America.  Trump supporters will get a huge reality check...huge...tremendous (figured I would use the tag words).  And after all the dust settles and the facts, yes I said facts, something this Administration doesn't deal in very often, will tell a story of corruption that will most definitely become a movie some day.

Trump and the DOJ Trying to Silence Mueller...

Mueller is set to sit in front of Congress on Wednesday this week and answer questions regarding the Mueller Investigation.  The DOJ, and organization that is supposed to look out for the best interests of America but has recently decided to become Trump's personal Law Firm, has sent correspondence to Mueller about what he can and cannot answer. For instance, you have the question of the 10 documented cases of obstruction in volume 2 of the report.  Mueller made it clear that he was bound by DOJ policy and could not indict a sitting president.  One very important question the Congressional Leadership will likely ask is, "If Donald Trump wasn't the sitting President, would you have indicted him based on the amount of evidence in the report?"  That question in every respect is fair.  You are asking the head of an investigation if they would have indicted someone had an arbitrary roadblock not been in place.  I say arbitrary roadblock because the policy is...

Let's talk about kids

So here we are, waiting patiently and watching what the government is doing to reunite children with their parents who have been separated at the border.  The government said all it would take was a few key strokes and they could immediately identify which children were where and get them reunited.  Interesting comment considering that we are now past the court mandated timeframe within which the government was mandated by the court to reunite the 102 children under the age of 5 with their parents.  They had a month to do it, and only managed to reunite around 54 children by the deadline.  They have resorted to taking DNA samples from children and parents to try to match them up in a database because the process they used to separate these children from their parents didn't take into consideration the reunification process, so in most cases they have no idea which children match up to which parents. Instead of the President taking a more compassionate approach to...

Technology, the Double Edged Sword

Technology is an amazing thing isn't it?  Look at the evolution of the computer.  Below I am providing a history of the evolution of the computer.  It is not all-inclusive, but does document some very important moments in history starting in 1801 and ending in 2017.  If you aren't a huge reader, you can jump past the history lesson to the remainder of my blog below, but it is very interesting and I recommend you read through it.  In France in 1801, Joseph Marie Jacquard invented a loom that used punched wooden cards to automatically weave fabric designs.  Early computers would use similar punch cards. In 1822, an English Mathematician named Charles Babbage conceived of a steam-driven calculating machine that would be able to compute tables of numbers.  The project was funded by the English government and was a failure.  More than a century later, however, the first computer was actually built in the world. In 1890, Herman Hollerith designed ...
