The President seems to be starting a Pardon binge right now. Is it because he is looking into these previous verdicts and sentences and finding them unfair, or is it because he is trying to do something far worse? You see, one of the fears the President has right now, speculatively of course, is that there are people being investigated right now he is scared will flip and begin working for the Special Counsel or other law enforcement agencies. If they do that, information the President doesn't want to come to light may end up ruining him. Additionally, there are individuals who have already been indicted for crimes committed. One possibility for the pardons Trump is granting and talking about granting could be that he wants to send a message to those people out there who are under investigation to tell them, "It's ok, go down for what they have you on, don't flip, and I will pardon you."
