Political Thoughts of the Day

It amazes me how blind politicians can be to corruption when they feel their future political prospects are at risk.  The laundry list of corruption surrounding Trump and his administration is obvious to the majority of sane Americans, but you ask any member of the GOP about it and they act as if they know and see nothing.

The funniest thing I have noticed in interviews over the past couple of weeks are the replies to one specific question.  Reporters have asked many GOP law makers the following question, or a version of the following question:

"Do you believe that a President asking a foreign power for political favors in turn for releasing aid for their country is ok?"

Every time the question is asked, the GOP law maker will immediately talk about Biden, gaslight, or completely change the subject.  They can't answer the question because they know it is completely wrong.

Special interest groups and large corporations own the GOP, and many own members of the Democratic party as well.  They aren't allowed to have individual thoughts or ideas, and have to stand behind the corporation's best interests at all times because they have been paid off to do so through campaign contributions.

You know why we don't have universal background checks yet in the United States?  Because the Gun Lobby has control of the GOP, including the President.

You know why the EPA has essentially been dismantled, having major environmental regulations stripped from the books?  Because corporations want to drill for oil and ruin land and they can't do that with the environmental protections that existed in years past.

Our country is run by corporations and the GOP members of congress are the current puppets for those corporations.  Big money needs to be taken out of politics, and soon, because our country is being ruined as a result.

There are 400 bills in the Senate being held by McConnell from every going up for vote, and yet the GOP says that Democrats aren't doing anything but trying to Impeach the President.  The simple fact is that Democrats are doing a ton, but McConnell is refusing to take a Senate Vote on any legislation.

This is by far the most corrupt GOP we have ever seen, and they are all lock step in protecting a corrupt and criminal President.  They say where's the proof, when they know that there is enough public proof at this point to Impeach 5 Presidents.  If Obama was President right now, having said and done everything Trump has, and if the GOP were in charge of Congress, Obama would have been almost immediately Impeached.

If your eyes aren't open to this corruption, you aren't looking hard enough.  Our norms and values are being eroded on a daily basis.  Look past the smoke screen and realize that in order to move forward as a country, this President, and all of the corrupt law makers and people surrounding him, need to go.

If you don't agree, I am more than happy to have a debate on the documented evidence; a debate I will win every time.

#VoteBlueNoMatterWho
#ImpeachTrump

Until next time,

DUNK

Trump and the DOJ Trying to Silence Mueller...

Mueller is set to sit in front of Congress on Wednesday this week and answer questions regarding the Mueller Investigation.  The DOJ, and organization that is supposed to look out for the best interests of America but has recently decided to become Trump's personal Law Firm, has sent correspondence to Mueller about what he can and cannot answer. For instance, you have the question of the 10 documented cases of obstruction in volume 2 of the report.  Mueller made it clear that he was bound by DOJ policy and could not indict a sitting president.  One very important question the Congressional Leadership will likely ask is, "If Donald Trump wasn't the sitting President, would you have indicted him based on the amount of evidence in the report?"  That question in every respect is fair.  You are asking the head of an investigation if they would have indicted someone had an arbitrary roadblock not been in place.  I say arbitrary roadblock because the policy is...

Let's talk about kids

So here we are, waiting patiently and watching what the government is doing to reunite children with their parents who have been separated at the border.  The government said all it would take was a few key strokes and they could immediately identify which children were where and get them reunited.  Interesting comment considering that we are now past the court mandated timeframe within which the government was mandated by the court to reunite the 102 children under the age of 5 with their parents.  They had a month to do it, and only managed to reunite around 54 children by the deadline.  They have resorted to taking DNA samples from children and parents to try to match them up in a database because the process they used to separate these children from their parents didn't take into consideration the reunification process, so in most cases they have no idea which children match up to which parents. Instead of the President taking a more compassionate approach to...

Technology, the Double Edged Sword

Technology is an amazing thing isn't it?  Look at the evolution of the computer.  Below I am providing a history of the evolution of the computer.  It is not all-inclusive, but does document some very important moments in history starting in 1801 and ending in 2017.  If you aren't a huge reader, you can jump past the history lesson to the remainder of my blog below, but it is very interesting and I recommend you read through it.  In France in 1801, Joseph Marie Jacquard invented a loom that used punched wooden cards to automatically weave fabric designs.  Early computers would use similar punch cards. In 1822, an English Mathematician named Charles Babbage conceived of a steam-driven calculating machine that would be able to compute tables of numbers.  The project was funded by the English government and was a failure.  More than a century later, however, the first computer was actually built in the world. In 1890, Herman Hollerith designed ...
