Faith vs. Fact

It's time to address a subject everyone avoids talking about because they don't want to offend anyone.  Religion. I will start with my background.  I was raised strict Catholic through my Junior year in high school when I was confirmed.  As the years went on, I began to distance myself from the church for a few different reasons.  I didn't believe in praying to the Virgin Mary, I didn't like the concept of reciting that I believed in one Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church, and I didn't like how the religion I was raised believing spoke from a stance that they were right and everyone else was wrong.  For years I was exploring different churches in my area, and what I found was that each one had some of the same traits that turned me off of my original church.  Then the day came where a friend of mine said I should come to his church.  I went on that Sunday, and it started out with a peer group where we sat in rooms with people around the same age ...

Stan Lee - Inspired the Imaginations of Generations

There are only a few influential figures in the world I can personally say had a huge impact on my life in one way or another.  I will talk a bit about my top two in this Blog.  First, John Ronald Reuel Tolkien, an English Writer, likely had the largest impact on my life. I didn't like to read as a child; in fact, I hated it.  There was a day school was called off for snow, and I was told by my Grandfather to read a book.  It was 'The Hobbit" by J.R.R. Tolkien.  At that young age it was a huge book to undertake, and I wasn't at all excited about reading it.  I thought it would be boring and a complete and utter waste of my time. Then I started reading it.  I will never forget the first paragraph of that book, because for some reason, and to this day I am not sure what that reason is, it grabbed me and didn't let me go.  It goes, "In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit.  Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and...

The Day After

So where are we a day removed from one of the most important elections in our lives?  We are in a place where more checks and balances will be in place over the next 2 years than were for the past 2 years. The Republicans controlled the House, Senate, and Presidency up until the election.  Now, the Republicans retain control of the Senate and Presidency, but lose control of the House.  That is a huge win for the Democrats as a whole, as it opens doors that have been closed for a long time.  So what can we expect to see happen in the coming months? First, I would expect that Robert Mueller will come out with new Indictments and a fairly thorough report very soon.  He has been silently investigating now for the past couple months, waiting on the Mid-Term Election to be complete, before bringing much of what he has gathered forward. I would expect that Don Jr. will be indicted soon, among others.  I would also expect to see the Democrat controlled Ho...

VOTE

This blog is going to be short and to the point everyone.  Today is one of the most important voting days in modern history.  The country is so strongly divided there is no other way to describe it without using the word hate.  We haven't seen division like this in a very, very long time, and it scares me...not for me personally, but for my children and what my generation is handing over to them.  I voted today, and for the first time in my adult life, I voted Straight Ticket.  Yes, as most of you who have followed my blog know, I am not a fan of the current administration in Washington, and I truly feel that checks and balances need to be put into place to stop this train from further derailing this great country we live in. The only way I feel that will happen is by the Democrats taking back the House, and hopefully the Senate, although I fear they will only take the House and the Senate will remain with the Republicans. My message is simple, however, ...

Our current state of events....

Trump Tweet 10/29/18 - "There is great anger in our Country caused in part by inaccurate, and even fraudulent, reporting of the news.  The Fake News Media, the true Enemy of the People, must stop the open & obvious hostility & report the news accurately & fairly.  That will do much to put out the flame..." "...of Anger and Outrage and we will then be able to bring all sides together in Peace and Harmony.  Fake News Must End!" Trump Tweet 10/28/18 - "The Fake News is doing everything in their power to blame Republicans, Conservatives and me for the division and hatred that has been going on for so long in our Country.  Actually, it is their Fake & Dishonest reporting which is causing problems far greater than they understand!" So I wanted to start this blog with a message from the President.  As you can see, the President has an interesting perception of the Free Press. Since Just July of this year, the President has called the Press i...

November 6th - Why it is important to our future.

This blog is going to be about a couple of things.  First, the lies that are being passed on as absolute facts by the far right; starting with the President of the United States.  Second, why it is imperative that you get out and vote on November 6th.  The President and his supporters over the past couple of weeks have been passing on lie after lie through the media and at rallies to try and ramp up support on the right during the mid-term elections that are fast approaching.  Trump started weeks ago attempting to campaign on the things his administration has accomplished over his time in the Presidency, but none of that seemed to take hold and amp up any of the base for the mid-term elections that are ever so important to the republicans.  So since that approach didn't work for Trump, he has resorted to what he does best; lying.  He has been lying about everything possible, and lies nearly every time he opens his mouth as we get closer to November 6th....

Let's Talk About Words...

This will be a simple but hopefully impactful blog.  Following are some terms I want you to read the definitions and descriptions of.  Racism - prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed at someone from a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior. Bigotry - intolerance toward those who hold different opinions from oneself. Misogyny - dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against women. Narcissism - extreme selfishness, with a grandiose view of one's own talents and a craving for admiration, as characterizing a personality type. Egotism - the practice of talking and thinking about oneself excessively because of an undue sense of self-importance. Autocracy - government in which one person is in total control. What are the signs of someone wanting to become an Autocrat? They see themselves as "very special" people They feel deserving of admiration. They have difficulty empathizing with the feelings and needs o...

A light hearted Blog of Thanks

This is going to be a very light hearted Blog today.  I want to start by saying Thank You to everyone who is visiting my Blog for the first time today, and everyone who has read my blog for many months now.  I appreciate all of you, and that in many cases you help me spread my voice around the globe.  I was looking at my analytics today and my Blog has now been read in the following places: Bahamas Canada France Germany Greece India Iraq Ireland Italy Peru Philippines Poland Romania Sweden Switzerland Singapore Spain Ukraine United Kingdom Vietnam Unknown Region (analytics couldn't pinpoint the location) Obviously my Blog has centered very strongly on Politics in the United States since I started Blogging at the end of April this year.  That wasn't the original intent, but I have been very passionate about following the Trump Administration over this past year-and-a-half, and with the 24-hour news cycle changing so rapidly and with so muc...

I was asked to say something positive about Trump...

I have been thinking quite a bit lately about some requests asked of me in recent weeks.  Three people asked at different times if I was ever going to write something positive about President Trump, as most all of my Blogs are centered around negative news regarding the president and those who are within his inner circle, as well as the things he has said and done that don't live up to the standards of the office he holds, or the definition of human decency.  The more I thought about the request, the more I became upset.  You see, over the past year-and-a-half, there have been a small handful of positive things that have come out of the Trump Presidency, but to me, none of that matters because of everything else.  Doing a couple of good things doesn't absolve all of the hate, lies, rhetoric, misogyny, bigotry, racism, arrogance, egotism, and narcissism.  A person like Trump, who refuses to stop outright lying to t...

Disgrace

TRUMP.  Let me tally up just some of the things...  1. Filed bankruptcy numerous times.  2. Has had countless business failures over decades that no one seems to talk about enough. 3. Has spoken over 4,300 lies and mistruths (and counting) since taking office a year and a half ago.  Has recently averaged around 8 lies per day and is getting worse. 4. Bragged about having power over women and being able to "grab them by the pussy." 5. Bragged about watching pageant contestants undress at his pageants. 6. Has been accused by many women of sexual harassment. 7. Referred to one of his accusers as not good enough for him to even consider.  8. Denigrated a war hero by saying that he prefers heroes who don't get captured. 9. Mocked a handicapped person. 10. Denigrated 2 minority gold star families. 11. During a celebration of the code talkers from the war, referred to a member of Congress as Pocaho...
